Friends of the Depot is a nonprofit organization based in Hardin, Montana, dedicated to preserving and promoting the historic Hardin Depot.

Originally formed in 2004, Friends of the Depot set out to restore and repurpose the depot as a community gathering place and a destination for visitors. After a period of inactivity, the organization was re-instated in 2025 and continues its mission to restore and celebrate this important piece of Hardin’s history.

In 2026, Friends of the Depot is proud to lead the

Little Bighorn Days celebration, further strengthening its role in community engagement and local heritage.
